Jürgen Klopp praised his side’s performance against Hoffenheim in Germany which will see the Reds return to Anfield for the second-leg leading the tie 2-1.

An excellent 30-yard-free-kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold gave the Reds the lead in the first half, with James Milner’s deflected cross doubling their lead in the second period. Hoffenheim’s Mark Uth halved the deficit with around five minutes of normal time remaining.

The Liverpool boss reflected on the Reds’ vital win against a side that hadn’t lost a home game in 15 months and praised the contribututions of Trent Alexander-Arnold and substitute James Milner.
