Interim Fulham manager Scott Parker believes Liverpool are the best counter-attacking team in Europe right now.

The Reds survived a late scare to win 2-1 at Craven Cottage, with goals from Sadio Mane and James Milner condemning Parker’s men to yet another defeat in what’s been a disappointing season for the London club.

Despite his club’s imminent relegation back to the Championship, Parker took time to pay tribute to Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool team.

“There were big positives. We played against the best counter attacking team in Europe, a front three which are pretty deadly,” Parker said of the Liverpool match.

“We need to stay in the game and we did that first half and there was some massive positives in the second half where the players took the front foot and we got back into the game but it’s a shame we couldn’t hold on.

“Now reflecting on it we’re really disappointed in the result.”
