Mohamed Salah revealed that his instincts took over in the moment when he took his shot on against Chelsea on Sunday.

The No.11, who was the subject of racist abuse from some Chelsea supporters last week, scored an unstoppable drive past the hapless Chelsea goalkeeper at Anfield less than two minutes after Sadio Mane bagged the opener.

Salah is now level with Sergio Aguero in the race for the Golden Boot, and spoke about what went through his mind as he prepared to shoot in what was a crucial win for the Reds.

“I don’t think, I just feel!” he said.

“Normally I shoot [with the] inside of the foot but this one – because it’s far [out] – I just hit it with power.

“I was a bit lucky that the ball hit the net like that.”

On his favourite goal in a Liverpool shirt, he added: “I will always choose [the Everton] one. This is my favourite because it’s my first derby.

“I think I used everything good – the strength, the technique and the skills.”
