Marko Grujic’s loan spell at Hertha Berlin could be extended if the German outfit were to qualify to compete in Europe next season.
Liverpool loaned the Serbian international to Hertha Berlin for the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign after he signed a new contract at Anfield, which will keep him on Merseyside until 2023.
Despite Grujic’s commitment to Liverpool, he is considering a longer stay in Germany, but insists Merseyside will be his home in the long term.
“In the long term I would like to prevail at Liverpool,” Grujic told German newspaper SportBild.
“But if we qualify for the Europa League with Hertha, I see a good chance that I will stay one more year.”
The Bundesliga side currently sit in seventh, one point off the European qualification places.
