It was a quiet week for Liverpool’s loanees, highlighted by starts for Sheyi Ojo and Connor Randall, and Toni Gomes’s early return to Liverpool.

Shamal George, Carlisle United

Carlisle United lost both their games this week, 1-0 against Coventry City on Saturday and 3-1 at Mansfield on New Year’s Day. Shamal George was not involved in the squad for either game.

Toni Gomes, Forest Green Rovers

Forest Green also endured a tough week, losing 2-1 at Lincoln City and 2-1 against Wycombe Wanderers. Toni Gomes was uninvolved.

The Rovers announced this week that the Portuguese striker’s loan spell has been cut short, and that Gomes returned to Liverpool on January 1. Gomes made 13 total appearances at Forest Green.

Sheyi Ojo, Fulham

Fulham drew 2-2 at Hull City on Saturday. Sheyi Ojo started, before coming off after 40 minutes as part of an inspired dual substitution with the Cottagers 2-0 down.

Fulham end 2017 in 12th place in the Championship, just seven points out of the playoff spots.

Connor Randall, Hearts

Connor Randall remained in the Hearts first XI for their 0-0 draw against Hibernian on Wednesday, but came off injured after 49 minutes. The injury is not believed to be serious, but did keep him out of the 0-0 stalemate at Aberdeen on Saturday, the club’s third straight goalless draw.

Jordan Williams, Rochdale

Rochdale lost both their games this week, 2-0 at Doncaster on Friday and 2-1 against Blackpool on New Year’s Day. Jordan Williams remains out injured.

Meanwhile, Allan Souza, Taiwo Awoniyi, Pedro Chirivella, Ryan Kent, and Divock Origi were off on winter break this week.
