The international break meant it was a quiet week for Liverpool’s loanees, with only three players in competitive club action.

Shamal George, Carlisle United

Despite a poor performance last week, Shamal George was handed another opportunity by Carlisle United on Tuesday, as he started in goal for their clash with Leicester City U21 in the EFL Trophy. Carlisle lost 1-0.

George returned to the bench for Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Exeter City.

Toni Gomes, Forest Green Rovers

Forest Green won their first game since August on Tuesday, beating Cheltenham Town 2-1 away from home in the EFL Trophy. On Saturday, they battled to a 1-1 draw at second place Notts County, only missing out on three points after a 96th minute equalizer.

Toni Gomes was not involved in the squad in either game, as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Ryan Kent, SC Freiburg

SC Freiburg were in friendly action on Thursday, and Ryan Kent made his first start for his new side, as they hosted French outfit RC Strasbourg. Freiburg lost 2-1, with Kent playing the whole game.

Jordan Williams, Rochdale

Jordan Williams made another start for Rochdale on Tuesday, with his side taking on Stoke City U21 in the EFL Trophy. The game finished 0-0, with Stoke going on to win a penalty shootout. Williams missed a penalty and chance to put Rochdale ahead after 24 minutes, but did convert his effort in the shootout.

Rochdale’s remarkable five game clean sheet streak came to an end on Saturday, as the Dale lost 1-0 at home to League Two highfliers Rotherham United. Jordan Williams again played the full game. He was booked after 46 minutes.

Williams has started all 10 games since joining Rochdale on loan, missing only 17 minutes.

International Break Roundup

Divock Origi’s Belgium beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 4-3 away. Origi spent the game on the bench.

Allan, Taiwo Awoniyi, Pedro Chirivella, Brooks Lennon, Sheyi Ojo, and Connor Randall were not in competitive action this week.
