Titi Camara releases tweet stating that RB Leipzig have been informed of Naby Keita’s desire to join Liverpool and are now looking for a replacement.

The former Liverpool striker has managed the Guinea national team in the past and is still a huge figure in Guinean sport.

Speculation is rife that Liverpool are ready to part with around £70m in order to secure top target Keita, with Klopp eager to secure the midfielders’ services at any price.

It has also been suggested that Keita is to talk to Leipzig this week, who Liverpool hope will agree to open negotiations.

Camara claims that Leipzig are now aware of Keita’s desire to join Liverpool.

The fact he claims that Leipzig are now looking for replacements is just as encouraging. Earlier on Monday Leipzig revealed their new home kit for the 2017/18 season and there was no sign of Naby Keita amongst the players modelling the new strip.

Camara has also revealed that Keita would like to wear the number 8 shirt at Liverpool. His initial tweet said number 9, but he quickly corrected that and says the number is lucky to him and his father. Nobody has worn the number 8 shirt at Liverpool since Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool are said to have offered the midfielder £130,000 a week and the next seven days will be pivotal in their pursuit of their number one transfer target.
