Roberto Firmino looks set to hand Liverpool a late injury boost as they seek to cement their place in next season’s Champions League.
The Brazilian missed the 4-0 win against West Ham on Sunday with a muscle problem but Klopp revealed in his pre-match press conference at Melwood earlier today that the 25-year old could feature against Middlesbrough on Sunday, with a late fitness test pencilled in for Saturday afternoon.
Klopp said: “It is very positive. We could not decide until now, feels good. He was not part of team training but that’s not a problem after this long season. We will make a final test tomorrow.
“At this stage I’d rather say yes than maybe.”
The return of Firmino would be a welcome boost for Klopp, but if the Brazilian does miss out the former Borussia Dortmund manager is likely to stick with the same starting eleven that swept West Ham aside at the London Stadium last weekend.
